What a capital idea to use a free blog space for this, Hugh! I was
trying out Backflip.com, but couldn't get it to import my bookmarks.
On your advice, I've created a new blog space at
http://valoriez.blogspot.com/

My laptop is out of commission at the moment, so I'm without my
bookmarks! What a pain -- I will not have to suffer through this
again, once I have copy/pasted all of them in.

Has anyone tried to host their blog on their freepages space? I
couldn't figure out how to translate their way of ftp-ing the new
posts into what I know about ftp-ing into my Rootsweb Freepages
space. For instance, I saw nowhere to enter the password.

By the way, Hugh -- Rootsweb has free counters available, at
http://counter.rootsweb.com/Counter.html . Bravenet also has free
counters, which will give you some statistics too.

Thanks again,

Valorie
