I agree with you absolutely. Nobody should be shamed or
browbeaten into learning HTML if they don't enjoy it.
The flip side of the issue is that Front Page and just about all
of the other programs that help you create your Web site are
buggy. They put errors into your pages. Those errors will
eventually bite your users. Recently my daughter asked me to
diagnose a form she made with a leading product from Microsoft.
I discovered the program had written her form in a way that made
it impossible to submit any information from it.
That doesn't mean you shouldn't use these products.
They make it easy for you to get your information onto
the Web. Just be aware of the tradeoffs.
