That page and the other examples of html done in Word have some of the
ugliest and most bloated code I've seen. I don't understand the
unwillingness
to use an actual html editor for what it's designed for in favor of using a
program designed for something else that does a terrible job. To get good
cross - platform results you need to use the right tools.

I'd be interested to know how dial-up users fare with the page linked below
and I can't believe that it validates. [BTW the page doesn't display
correctly
in Firefox.] Sorry to sound severe but there's no reason to not take the
time
to learn a proper program.

Umm Nelda, I have used Word in the past and agreed that it makes loads of
HTML But you can get really good backgrounds using Word, and it will accept
photos, so I wouldn't knock it. www.muir.clara.net/record
That website is in Word. If you take a look, please do not try to link to
my homepage as that was taken down last week and I have had no time to amend
said Word website.

Depending on what windows program you are using you have probably a choice
of a couple of methods right on your computer..

First The word program will convert to html... it is a bulky program that
writes to me dull pages... but you can insert pictures....

second look in your programs look for front page express... a limited front
page software...

If you have micro soft office in your computer both excell and powerpoint
will convert to html....

just some ideas...
