GEDCOMs only used doing genealogy but can not be uploaded to a genealogy site!!

Rootsweb does not have software that can read a GEDCOM!!!! Very strange
indeed!!!!

But a different question, why is it necessary for rootsweb to read these files
in the first place?

I have had this web site for a few years and have had GEDCOMs there from the
start and I would like to update them. These are small GEDCOMs linked to my
web pages so someone can click on the link and download them. These are not
whole family trees and I do not consider Worldconnect an appropriate place for
a few small GEDCOMs.
