Hi Marian,

Right now your site
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~spotswoodharper/ has nothing
uploaded to it. You need to create a basic page and upload it for
anything to show. The first page MUST be named index.htm or
index.html for anyone to reach it by using the above listed url. All
file names are case sensitive so it is best to use lowercase to name the files.

You can create a basic page by entering the file manager
http://freepages.rootsweb.com/fileman/file_manager.cgi
sign in with your user name and password

Once you have logged in, select the community - usually genealogy -
and click enter file manager.
If you want to create your page with the online editor click Don't
know where to start? You can create a basic page
<http://freepages.rootsweb.com/fileman/simple.cgi?phase=input&numFiles=4&extension=other&extension=jpeg&extension=gif&extension=html&curDir=>here

You can enter some vbery basic information and this will give you a start.

Or you can scroll down to HTML Editing Controls and create a new page
with the WYSIWYG editor. I do not use the online editor. I'm not
sure if anyone has done any tutorials on using it or not.

If you have no idea at all where to start setting up your site, then
I highly recommend Cheri Zuber's site
http://freepages.misc.rootsweb.com/~zuber/gentips/newsite/2design.htm
Take the time to read over her suggestions and come back and ask us
questions. There are lots of helpful people around.
