Not so weird. Have heard of this before. Try this:
Open an explorer window or "my computer". In the "tools" menu select
"folder options". Click on
the "view" tab and put a check in the box next to "do not cache
thumbnails".
Also make sure there is a check in the box beside "display the contents
of system folders" and a tick
in the radio button for "show hidden files and folders". Click OK.
Now do a search on all your hard drive including subdirectories for
"thumbs.db" (omit""). Highlight
and delete them all.
Reboot.
