Maybe there's a way to rewrite the code so it overwrites any changes "bad
apple users" try in an attempt to disable the banner, while leaving the
other users' webs intact.
Overall, I agree with other posts -- If I had to figure out how to
work-around and fix a scripting issue, I couldn't do it with my level of
HTML knowledge.
As an aside, yesterday I still had the old darker banner. Tonight, I now
have the new banner. I don't know about other people's opinions, but the 2
colors of green look so... well, it reminds me of the green hospitals used
to use on all their walls. Citizens used to call my hometown's hospital
"sickly green" - LOL. It's that pea-green when vegetables are boiled too
long till they almost become washed out. They put the same colors on the
Boards and it looks just as bad on the links on Ancestry side. (my 2 cents)
I do hope the banner trouble is fixable. It sure has caused an uproar!
While I have Mr. Winch's ear, I have two questions.
1.) Is there a way to make File Manager have a button so the individual
webmaster could toggle between the list by file SIZE (as it is now), to an
ALPHA List of file names? Sometimes I like to highlight my whole list on
File Man and paste it to a Txt file (to keep a record of all my pages).
Moreso, it would make finding one file a whole lot easier.
2). Sometimes whole files of images become inaccessible. Is there a
common SERVER reason for this, if CaSe matches between links and file names,
and the images are loaded to the correct folder? It doesn't happen to my
pages all the time, just intermittently--- some weeks the images show, other
weeks they don't.
Thank you
Judy
