I'm feeling confused by the latest responses, because I think somehow my original question has been lost. I never asked about creating pages that would make a user get stuck... nor do I want to know how to disable the back button. Yes, I understand that "target_blank" whites out the back button.

Barry, the example you give to http://freepages.computers.rootsweb.com/~bristowe/marquee/page1.html?p=0 is MUCH like the pages I first asked about -- except when I run across these sites, it is a company's page typically, and won't let me even go back to a Google Results page. The LINKS on their pages just take you deeper into their website, and "back" on any secondary pages DO go back (to their site only though). Users just cannot get OFF of that company's site. So I don't know if what they are using is the same or not as to what you used.

When I come across another site like I'm describing, I'll put the link on this List so we can discuss it further.

Best you do as you have suggested and supply the url of one of those sites you have talked about. The answer will be somewhere within the html/script.
