My first suggestion would be that everyone stop using GEDCOMS-period.
My second would be to encourage others to stop using GEDCOMS
If someone wants your data send it to them in the form of written narrative reports. If your data is worth anything then it is worth keying in by hand. This has the added advantage that it would stop the spread of junkology done by namegatherers.
We must educate those newer to genealogy that genealogy is *not* a quick and easy hobby and that real work is involved. Quit bowing to the instant gratification need so many of the newbies seem to demand.
Let's face it- if your aren't searching for original documents and most of your info comes from online member trees you aren't doing either genealogy OR family History; you are merely a namegatherer producing junk-period.
