Won't others do the same then Pat? - Create an error log that is.
I know Family Tree Maker does, and Generations [ which I still use] and
Genbox too.
Nothing wrong with GEDCOM at all as I see it, it was designed by the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-Days Saints, as I like PAF as well. I think I
have almost tried them all - Roots Magic and Legacy as well and Family
Historian. Yep I am mad and seemingly made of money! ;-))
My best wishes, Jill

I agree that some programs handle GEDCOMS better than others. But
since I have had some questions off list, I'll offer here that my
personal preference is RootsMagic. It exports non-standard tags as
EVENTS which *can* be imported by any other genealogy program. And
if it encounters non-standard tags in an imported GEDCOM, it creates
an error log so that I can review those errors and import them if and
as desired.
Other opinions may differ.
