Since being subscribed to this very useful help list I have read many times the plight of would be web owners trying to get started.
 
It seems we all do, as I did, and try to log onto our newly acquired space only to be denied access or even its existence.
 
Am I right to say you can’t log into your web space before you have named your page and uploaded something to it?
As I remember it, the first time I could log into my space was about 24 hours after the first upload. Following updates happen immediately.
 
I searched this list for answers then only to find huge numbers of others with the same question and no answer.
 
I think it would be helpful if a new "flowchart" for beginners was mailed to all new subscribers with much more detail of how and when. Some of us are really learning from scratch.

Hi, Pat.? I'm very confused about how this entire site works, so I hope this message reaches you.? I have tried logging in with both MS Publisher 2007 and Cute FTP, with the same failure results.? I am trying to log into the place sent to me in my email from Freepages:???users.freepages.rootsweb.com?using the username I asked for and was assigned:? dandurant2009.? I am using the password I was assigned, exactly as it was assigned, with the first character uppercase and the remainder lower case.? Any ideas?

I am unable to connect to my recently created webspace.? I'm using the logon info you sent me, but I get error messages related to "access denied" and "unable to connect."? I'm using correct case on the password.? Please advise.
