I think that it didn't help that Mike had an email address that linked to
another. The latter one was terminated and so as far as I understand
Rootsweb emails were going nowhere. Add to that that the intended recipient
was unwell and you can see how a problem evolved.

As the preacher said, "Condemn the sin, not the sinner."
It's unnecessary to leap to the conclusion that an AUP violator is a
pornographer or worse; perhaps too many family snapshots? I'm not sure how
evil a sin it is to violate the Acceptable Use Policy or whether
acknowledgement of the fact constitutes condemnation. Termination of the
account seems punishment enough for most violations.
It has been useful to see reminders for what's allowed and what isn't.
Sometimes we forget.
BTW, "Acceptable Use Policies" (AUP) aren't quite the same as "End User
Licensing Agreements" (EULA). The latter usually require you to waive
liability to the publisher for any damage to your system or files.
