Jodi,

I am researching the WEATHERS/WITHERS surname in Walker County, Georgia.

My wife descends from Hartell Weathers (born 9 Dec 1810 in North Carolina)
who married Mary Black (born 15 August 1820 in South Carolina). They were
married about 1835 in South Carolina and the first 2 children were born
there before they moved to Georgia. On one of the Census records, Hartwell
reported that his parents were from Virginia.

Two sons served in during the Civil War, Younger Levi Weathers and William
Asberry Weathers. Their names are spelled WITHERS in the book: Roster of
the Confederate Soldiers of Georgia 1861-1865

Other surnames associated with my research are: DAVIS (from Heard/Coweta
Counties), Plaster, and Osburn.

I have yet to find the birth records of Hartwell and Mary in their
respective Carolinas.

If you find any connection, I would love to hear from you and compare
research.
