Dear List Members,

One more note on list etiquette. Must be the heat or something. *Great Big
Grin*

Please remember to remove the unnecessary 'junk' from your email before
sending to a list.

Oftentimes when corresponding privately, individuals will WANT you to leave
the entire message intact, thereby keeping a record of the entire
correspondence, or to know exactly what you are talking about. Some receive
a large volume of email and must have the message to recall which situation,
to whom..."blah, blah, blah"

However, on a RootsWeb list, all the mail is archived. It wastes bandwidth
and makes for searching in the archives a hassle to leave ALL the
repetition. So, after hitting reply, cut all the URLs (hyperlinks) that
aren't needed and the other stuff you aren't replying to, like the taglines
at the bottom, example: the "ancestry.com" ads, or the taglines the list
manager adds such as how to unsubscribe etc....leaving only the portion of
the message YOU are responding to. Please DO leave 'something' in the
message to let everyone know what in the world you are talking about.
*smile* Or open a new message, highlight and copy from the old message,
paste into the new one. Don't forget a good subject line!

Please, this is very important. I know we have a lot of beginning computer
users who don't know any better, but you should always when sending your
mail to multiple individuals, use blind carbon copy (bcc). It is a
protection for your family and friends! Spammers could get the whole list of
them! Not to mention, you could add their names to the address book(s) of an
infected computer user(s).

BTW, I did unsubscribe "GOZAGUPPY" Jennifer, so y'all don't have to worry
about that. *very big grin*

My sincere thanks to this wonderful group of cousins and friends. Now, lets
go have some genealogy fun!

Sharon
