We're trying to collect this sort of data on the GA Military Rosters on-line
page.

======here's what I have so far======
TEXAS REVOLUTION
The Georgia Battalion was organized by William Ward in Macon, Georgia after
a town meeting on Nov 12, 1835.
It was unique in that it was probably the only state from the Union that
came to the Texans aid in an organized fashion.

For complete details see Texas Handbook On Line Do a Search: Georgia Battalion
http://www.tsha.utexas.edu/handbook/online/

Joanna Troutman was born in Crawford County, and designed the flag of white
silk, with a blue star and two
inscriptions. "Texas and Liberty" and "Where Liberty dwells there is my
country", the later in Latin. Joanna
presented this to the Georgia Battalion and it was raised by Texans as their
national flag when they declared their
independence.
Search: Joanna Troutman (for more details)

Roster is in 1892 Early Times in Texas by John Duval. Most died in the
Goliad Massacre.
==========================================

If anyone would like to provide some of these Rosters to put on-line, that
would be just great. I believe that Rosters are "public domain"....so a
copyright issue is not involved. Mr. Duval's (very old book) listed above
does contain these rosters of the men with William Ward.....
