I am seeking any information regarding the "Door of Hope" home that was located at 658 Arch (between First and Second) in Macon in the early 1920s. I believe that it was a home for unwed mothers. I am especially interested in whether records would have been kept and archived, whether it was affiliated with any church or religious entity, and whether any state or local governmental agency would have oversight of its operations and kept records. Mrs. M.E. Freeman was superintendent of the home in 1923-1924. The home closed about 1924-1925. Any information would be appreciated. Please reply to: .
