From the helpful genealogy librarian at the Washington Memorial Library:

A hospital was established by the Confederate Government at the Floyd House in
Macon in 1862. The house and the hospital are the same building. That
house crashed in Feb 1888.

I also learned through his looking at the 1880 city directory that my
gr-gr-grandmother's nephew Harry Griswold was living at the Lanier House,
another hotel in Macon by then.
