I got so curious about this deed, that it led me to lots of other things
about Joseph Walton -- but I'd love to learn more about him from an actual
descendant. Since this is also connected to Macon, Bibb Co, maybe someone
on that list will be connected.

NOTE: 1860 Taylor Census lists him as 40, Tavern & Livery Keeper
With this business, I'm sure he must have known many of our ancestors!
John Adams printed in the September
1997 issue of The Taylor Tracer a map of Butler...and this has "X" for
Joseph Jackson Walton's properties! This same issue featured the McKenny
and Walton family.
So you can imagine how delighted I was to read all this.
Walton's daughter, Sarah, married Joshua McKenny and they later operated
The Butler Hotel. Robert McKenny (their son) was president and editor of
the Macon News. Joseph J. Walton also was a proprietor of a boarding house
on Plum Street in Macon.
John Adams also has a listing of those who first bought lots in Butler, and
will be printing it in a future Tracer.
