Johnathan Gable, son of Jacob and Lydia Gable was born on Nov. 25, 1843 in York Co., Pennsylvania. (I have the original baptismal certificate with this information.) I also have a certificate from the Bureau of Pensions stating that he was a private, Captain Herman's Co., 103rd Pensylvania Infantry.
Johnathan Gable died Nov. 22, 1894, in Wyandotte County, Kansas. He is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery, Wyandotte County, Kansas (Kansas City, Kansas).
I also have an affidavit signed by Johnathan Gable applying for a military pension for his brother's widow. His brother Levi may have also fought in the Civil War. This states that Levi died in 1892.
I don't have any Civil War correspondence, but my father has a Civil War sword that belonged to either Johnathan Gable or Henry Brown. I also have a photograph of Johnathan Gable.
