That sounds like a good book to donate to the DAR library. I just checked and that line isn't there. There is only one book about Shuman lines and it is a group from the north.

You need to buy a copy of The Shuman Family Genealogy, compiled by Earline Geiger, Carolyn Jarrard, Euna Futch and Alene Knaebel. Your Shuman family is extensively documented in this book. I believe the book was privately published. I have an old e-mail address for Ms. Jarrard: <mailto:>. Erline Geiger still lives in Pembroke GA I believe.

According to this book, William Henry Shuman m. (1) Martha Sheffield, daughter of John Sheffield and Martha Harvey. he m. (2) Sarah Ann Sheffield on 25 Nov 1835 In Thomas County, Ga. Sarah was Martha's sister.

William had son John Rutherford(1829), son William(1830), daughter Mary Ann(1836), son John(1838), son G.H.(1839), dau. Rebecca(1841), son Emanuel(1844), daughter Martha (1851) and son H. Ellis(1849),

So far as I know, Bryan County marriage records begin about 1865/1866.

If you are unable to find the Shuman book, I will be glad to copy the relevant pages for you and send by snail mail
