Don, Does it really say James M. Simmons in your book? In mine it only says
James Simmons, with no middle initial. (I'm not trying to be a smart aleck,
I am wondering if we have different additions with corrections or something
like that.)

Butts County Marriage Book 1826-1926 list the following..............

James M Simmons marriage to Nancy Davis on January 3, 1838
James N. Simmons marriage to Eizabeth C. Crum on May 10, 1849
Mitchell T. Simmons marriage to Elizabeth Davis on January 11,1837
These are the only 3 Simmons in the book.
