Looking for information about a Joseph V. Smith who was
known to be living in Camden County, Ga., in 1859, through
equity records in Barnwell County, SC. Joseph V. Smith
was also mentioned in a will in Barnwell County, SC, ca. 1851
as husband of Sarah Bryan, daughter of John Bryan and
L. L. R. Colding of SC. It is believed that Joseph died
between 1859 and 1869 as his widow, Sarah, remarried in
1869 to Whipple Aldrich, Jr. Whipple Aldrich, jr. was the
son of Dr. Whipple Aldrich and Letetia Shearman of
St. Mary's, Camden County, Ga.
