(a) "Georgia on the Web" by Jennifer Schmidt. Using resources such as CDs and
the Internet, even the out-of-state researcher can now dig for Georgia roots.
(b) "Understanding Georgia Land Grant and Land Lottery Records, Part I" by
Robert S. Davis, Jr., to search Headright and Bounty Land grants.
(c) "Early Church Research, Especially Baptists" by Alvie Davidson.
Information on identifying and tracing the church of your ancestors and
accessing records that might give genealogy sources for ancestors.

10:15 - 11:15 Session II
(d) "Gen-Surfing: A Genealogists' Guide to Exploring the Internet" by
Jennifer Schmidt. An overview of the many Internet resources available for
genealogists.
(e) "Understanding Georgia Land Grant and Land Lottery Records, Part II" by
Robert S. Davis, Jr., to search the records of Georgia's Land Lotteries,
1805-1833.
(f) "Wiregrass Georgia Families" by E. L. "Boe" Williams. An informational
discussion of south Georgia families led by the former aide to Judge Huxford.

(g) "Genealogy CD-ROMs" by Jennifer Schmidt. Learn what is available in the
explosion of CD products for genealogists and how they can enhance your
research.
(h) "The Finding Aids of the National Archives of the United States" by
Robert S. Davis, Jr., to utilize the records of the federal government.
(I) "On Reading a Cemetery" by Carrie M. Adamson. How cemeteries reflect art,
architecture, symbolism, local history, genealogy and more.
(j) "Georgia Records of Antiquity" by Alvie Davidson. Sources outside of a
courthouse, mail and/or electronic sources, federal, state and local records.

(k) "Advanced Genealogy Searching on the Web" by Jennifer Schmidt. Learn the
most efficient techniques to find genealogical information on the World Wide
Web.
(l) "Hidden Treasures of Genealogy at the Georgia Historical Society" by Kim
Ball. Focus on records that are unique to the GHS.
(m) "Using a Genealogical Library Effectively" by Carrie M. Adamson. Focuses
beyond vital records, censuses, etc.

(n) "Wonders Never Cease: Historical and Genealogical Data Found via the
Internet in my Search for George W. Ashburn, a Radical Republican Murdered in
Post-Bellum Columbus" by Kenneth H. Thomas, Jr.
(o) "Salzburgers and Celtic Kindred Spirits" by Sonny Dixon. Neighbors in
Effingham County, Georgia who fostered the growth of the area.
(p) "People finders of the Old South with Emphasis on Georgia" by Robert S.
Davis, Jr., to look for those hard-to-find ancestors.
