Hey all,
I've finished several Charlton County cemetery surveys. I've done my best
to not leave any out. If you know of someone I've missed, or would like to
add some info or offer a correction to an existing listing, please drop me
a line.
The weather down here has been absolutely beautiful lately - in the 70s and
80s. The bugs aren't any better, but at least I'm not totally *melting*
while I'm out there!
I'm going to do as many as I can before it heats back up. It always gets
real hot at least one last time before fall and winter set in!
I have photos but it'll take me a bit longer to get those on-line. Btw,
paper copies of the Charlton surveys are also being put in the Charlton
County Historical Archives building with Lois B. Mays.
Surveyed and on-line at http://www.camden411.com/crypt/cemetery.cfm :
Allen/O'Berry (9/27/2001)
Corinth (Primitive Baptist Church) (9/27/2001)
Gibson (family cemetery) (9/27/2001)
Lowther (family cemetery) (9/27/2001)
Sardis (Primitive Baptist Church - both old and new cemeteries) (9/20,
9/21, 9/23/2001)
Next in my sights (though plans may change): Bethel, Antioch, Homeland, and
a few others in the north end. After those are done I'll start moving
towards the bend section.
Take care,
Tara Fields
