John Barnard was an ancestor of mine from Savannah area. The Barnards were
who Barnard St. was named. Sir John Barnard was Lord Mayor of London among
may other titles. His son Col. John Barnard settled in Wilmington Island
Ga. with a land grant given by King Geo 11. His sons were an important part
of Ga. history and are written up in many history books. Timothy Barnard was
the first white man to be a resident of what is now Macon Ga. The Barnard's
opened most of the trails that became known as Barnard's Trail. I am sure
you must have a Barnard female in your ancestors. Be proud of that name..I
