I am searching for information on the family of John B. Jones who appears on the 1860 Federal census in Chattahoochee County, GA with his wife, Lucretia and sons William (7), Lemuel (6), J (4) & R.E. (1). John Blackston Jones and "Cressa" Ann Cobb married in Dec 1851 in Muscogee County, the same date that Richard E. Jones married Elizabeth Jones.

I noticed on the LDS site that a Richard and Lemuel Jones, of the correct ages, are shown as the sons of Columbus Jones and Lucy. Can anyone help me confirm that Columbus Jones was not a nickname for John B. Jones? We believe that John B. Jones (John Blackston) was the brother of Richard Ebenezer (Richard E.) for whom John & Lucretia Cobb Jones's youngest son was named. We are trying to locate family information for Richard Ebenezer (Richard E., R.E.) Jones who was in Chattahoochee County, GA in 1860, and we are hoping that perhaps someone with information on this particular Jones family might help us either prove/disprove a family connection/relationship.

Thanks in advance for any information
