My g.g.grandfather was Ellis Thornburg. His family is listed in the 1860 Cherokee Co., AL census with an Alpine, GA post office. He enlisted in the Confederate Army as being from Chatooga Co., GA.. The name is spelled "Thronesberry" in the census and "Thornburgh" in other records. Would appreciate it if you could search your index for any variations of the name. Thanks. Yvonne
