Subject: [GACHEROK-L] Ever heard of Long Swamp Creek in Cherokee county, GA.?

Hello, I was hopeing someone could help me. I am trying to find out about my
cherokee ancestry.
My family of John James Daniel tried to enroll on the Dawes census in 1896,
they were rejected, because they were not part of any treaty.
My ggg grandmother claimed her indian blood through her grandfather. John
James Daniel, she stated he was living on Long Swamp Creek in Cherokee
county, Georgia in 1835. I know their is a Ruben Daniel, if I rembmer
correctly he was indian. But I don't know if we connect to him or not? How
would one research this out or look for them in Georgia. During they years
of 1835? Also, is there a Long Swamp Creek in Cherokee county? I would
appreciate any advice. Thanks Vickie Lomon
