Tiney Smith, if this is the correct one, Smith was her maiden name, and she
was the daughter of David B Smith of Canton. This sure looks like a match but
I still would like to find more proof. There were 2 daughters, Bessie (born
1896) and Minnie (Nanette) born in 1902/03. I have an old letter written by the
youngest daughter, stating that her dad died before her 1st birthday.

The strange thing is that the granddaughter, tells me that her grandmother
lived with her family until her death in 1933, & when ever the subject ever
came up about the grandfather the subject was changed. So they have no idea who
this fellow was. I am trying to help the granddaughter to find some answers,
she is 85 yrs old. I checked to old newspapers in Cherokee Co, to see if
there was a mention of Harrison Smith, but found nothing. Also this was before
records of deaths were kept. So I am at a loss, where to look next unless it
might be probate in Cherokee Co. Also I know that the grandmother remarried
in Cobb Co. to a Joseph McCoy in 1904, the granddaughter did not know this name
either. I don't know if either of these gentlemen may have died in Cobb Co.
Guess I will check that.
