This message is for Jim Moore. Jim, I have a daughter of Alfred Stewart (my
Great-Great Grandfather) named Salley Stewart. I have her listed as marrying
a Phillip Lane on Aug, 16, 1826. I do not know what County they were married
in. Alfred married twice. His first wife was Hannah Phillips, whom he
married in Oglethorpe County on November 8, 1800. This would be the mother
of Salley. That is about all the info I have on Salley or Phillip Lane. Any
info you might be willing to share would be appreciated. Salley had 2
brothers and 2 sisters. There names were Thomas, Levi, Nancy and Elilabeth.
She had 5 half brothers and sisters when Alfred re-married Mary Crawford
about 1820. They were mary, Susan, James, Silas, and Alphonso. Alfred is
buried in an unmarked grave in the Huff cemetery in Onocee County, Ga.
