Subject: [GaClarke] Virus Alert W32/SirCam@MM (Sir Cam Virus)]]
Date: Tue, 24 Jul 2001 20:00:15 -0500
Folks,
this virus is running rampant on the internet. Be VERY CAUTIOUS opening
any attachment
you may receive, especially if it has a double extension,
ie:filename.aaa.bbb where
aaa.bbb could xls.com or jpg.doc. the point is that it has 2 extensions
after the
filename.
It doesn't always follow the description listed below by McAfee, so look
for the
double extension!!!
If you get anything that looks suspicious DELETE IT!!!
I have received at least a half of dozen of these, but fortunately i
have not been
burnt.
I know this is a little off from genealogy, but i felt like this virus
is bad enough to warn you!!!
I hope everyone is having a good week!
