All I know about the Thomas Childress I'm researching is that he lived on Crooked Creek in 1799, and that some time prior to this, his property belonged to George Stewart, though I suspect it could have been spelled Stuart as there was a Clement Stuart who received a headright grant on the North Oconee River in 1784-5.
