I'm certainly no DNA expert, but I have been exposed to discussions of results from two different families. My understanding (admittedly limited) is that you cannot draw any conclusions about one particular individual ancestor, such as your ggrandfather, from one DNA test result. Most prefer to test multiple individuals before drawing any conclusions since many factors could impact one test sample. It would be good if there were tests from other descendants of Isaac Crow (b. 1819) and from the website I see that there is a test from a descendant of Stephen Crow (also of Clarke Co., GA). Wait and see what results come from that test.

It appears that your test was a 12 marker test, rather than the more detailed 25 marker test. My interpretation of the info at the bottom of the results page would be that even with a perfect 12 for 12 match, there is only a 50% probability for a Most Recent Common Ancestor 14.5 generations earlier. That's three times as many generations, and centuries further back than Isaac.

I will also be interested in these results as I am a descendant of Stephen Crow of Clarke Co. Let me know if you want to compare some notes on the Crow line.

Could he have been a Blair and adopted by a Crow family?? I have not been able to located Isaac Crow's family and this might be a reason for not finding him. Lots of question, looking for some answers. Any help, please!
