Subject: ALLEN/ALLIN/ALLAN/ROBINSON WHERE DID ROBINSON CREEK GET ITS NAME???
Date: Mon, 27 Sep 2004 23:48:39 -0500

Does anybody know for whom Robinson Creek in Clarke County, now Oconee
County, was named??? Was there a Robinson man or family that lived in the
area or was it just somebody passing through on a survey crew type thing
giving names to creeks and other land marks?
On the Clarke County, Georgia, Tax List of 1806 in Capt William's
District...
Phillip Allan, 226 a, gt. Marbury, aj Tramel, Clarke C, Robinson Ck
In Clarke County, Georgia, in 1819 Philip Allen married Sarah Robinson b.
c. 1790 Georgia d. 1870-1880 Clarke/Oconee County, Georgia. He was a Rev.
Sol. from Virginia b. c. 1760 d. c. 1838 Clarke County, Georgia.
If I knew for whom Robinson's Creek was named it might be a clue to the
identity of Sarah Robinson's family. I have even speculated that perhaps
she might have first married a Robinson and then Allen/Allin/Allan.
