While I was online, Judith, I checked Ancestry.com for records on Franklin Hurt - found Franklin Augustus Hurt, born 8-3-1875 in Oglethorpe Co. listed in the WWI draft registration cards - 1917-18 - roll 1558464, image #395. He lived at Maxeys (another community near Crawford in Oglethorpe Co), age 43, his nearest relative is listed as "Mrs. F.A. Hurt, Maxeys" & he signed with his full name. The registrar's report said he was of medium height, stout build, brown eyes & dark hair. The registrar was Charles P. Brightwell 9-12-1918.
The census search on Ancestry revealed several Franklin Hurt entries in KY, one AUGUSTUS F. HURT b. ca 1830 in GA, living in Gordon Co., GA in1880 (up near Dalton/Chattanooga in the NW corner of GA).
Again, good luck, eve

Hello, I just received your post on the adoption records, and wondered if you would mind doing a lookup for me.
Felix Augustus Hurt aka Franklin Augustus Hurt died in 1890 and is buried in Crawford, GA. His wife Mary Jane Threlkeld Hurt died in 1893. I wonder if there are any intestate records listed in your book for this family. I have been at a dead end for years on what happened to his children, all would have been in their early 20's to teen years.
Thank you for any help you can give me.
