Looking for any info on James Morris/Marse Smith b. ca. 1841or 1860 in South Carolina or Georgia. He is the elusive ancestor. All I know is his death cert. has his father's name as George b. ca. 1830 in South Carolina, there is no mother's name listed. James married Trecy Whitecotton b. 1876 in Ga. Habersham Co. James worked for the railroad at the time he met Trecy around 1889 in Habersham Co., GA. There is a controversy on when and where he was born and his middle name. He died in 1932 in Gadsden, Alabama.
