I am looking for information about the family of Edmund B. Jenkins, listed on the Columbia County State Historical Marker as the first Sheriff of Columbia County.
Also, I see that a Edmund B. Jenkins was later in Milledgeville where he acted as Mayor in 1814 and apparently Surveyor General of Georgia. He died at Milledgeville in 1817. Does anyone know if this is the same man?
My real interest is in Sterling Jenkins of Wilkes County, Georgia, but he is my brickwall. He named a son Edmund and I am hoping to discover if Sterling and Edmund B. were related.
