The Covington News, April 11, 1918
COVINGTON MILLS
On Monday night, March 28th, at twenty minutes until eleven o’clock, the
death angel came and bore the soul of Mr. Lee Broome to its eternal home.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday afternoon by Rev. Walker Combs, at
the Covington Mill church. Mr. Broome was a member of the Baptist church and
had lived a consecrated life. All was done that loving hands could do, but God,
in gathering up his jewels, saw it to take this bright light from our midst. He
is survived by a wife, two sons, and four daughters. We extend to the family
our deepest sympathy.
