Old Resident Dead

The death of Mr. Elihu Croxton, which occurred Saturday evening at his home
near Friendship, removes another of Sumter’s oldest and most esteemed
citizens. Mr. Croxton was eighty-five years of age and had long been a
resident of Sumter County, where he was widely known and esteemed among all.
He is survived by several sons, daughters and other relatives, among the latter
being Capt. Lamuel McGarrah, of Americus. The funeral took place at Mount
Talbot Sunday afternoon. – Americus Times-Recorder
