DEATHÂ’S SAD ROLL
Mr. Joseph William PURRINGTON departed this life at his home in this city
early Monday morning, April 4. Aged about 35 years. He was born in Newton
County and was a man of high honor and unquestioned integrity. He won and
retained the esteem and confidence of all with whom he had social or business
relations. For many years he held the responsible position of bookkeeper in the
large merchantile establishment of Mr. T. C. SWANN. For two years he was clerk
and treasurer of the city of Covington. Mr. PURRINGTON was a good and true man
in every sense of the term, and he will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He
leaves an aged mother, two children and many loved ones to mourn his death and
lament his loss.
