"ARLIE MAYFIELD

Arlie Mayfield, 72, died Monday at Bethesda Nursing Center after being
ill several weeks. He formerly lived at 1108 W. Main.

He was born near Mountain Grove, Mo., the son of Noah and Sarah Mayfield.
In 1924, he married Sylvia Gaddis in Mountain Grove.

He was a member of the Assembly of God and a 25-year member of Cedar Lodge
No. 103 AF&AM. A retired oilfield worker, he had lived in Chanute earlier
in his life and returned here in 1947.

Survivors include his wife, at Bethesda Nursing Center; a daughter, Geneva
(Neva) Hall, 721 S. Lafayette; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren;
a brother, the Rev. Fred Mayfied, Topeka; five sisters, Verga Wilson, 616
N. Grant; Gertie Gaddis, 602 N. Grant; Mrs. Dewey Musser, Mountain Grove,
Mo., Mrs. Ova Gaddis, Castorville, Calif., and Mrs. Larry Lyons, Grandview,
Wash.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Gibson-Koch Chapel, with the
Rev. Milton Hubbard and the Rev. Lowell Underwood officiating. The casket
will not be open.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

A memorial has been established at the First Assembly of God."
