I am trying to find out any information on my Gaddis line. My G-Grandfather
was Soloman Fuller Gaddis. He was born in Fayette Co., AL Jan. 1, 1855. His
father was Linden J. Gaddis, born in N.Car. abt. 1820. Linden married Emiee
Dickerson in Cherokee Co., GA on Mar. 5, 1845. They had 8 children: Arminta
E. b. GA abt. 1847; John B. b. GA abt. 1848; James R. b. GA abt. 1849;
Archibald W. B. GA abt. 1852; Soloman Fuller b. AL Jan 1, 1855; Margaret Ann
b. AL July 18, 1858; L. Jeffrey b. AL May 11, 1863 and Andrew J. b. AL 1866
Linden then married Elizabeth Byrd Matthews Sept. 21, 1871 in Fayette Co.,
AL. They had 2 children: William b. AL 1872 & Artie Messa b. AL 1875.
I don't know Linden's parents but on one census he listed them as being born
in VA.
I have Linden's siblings listed as : Iredell b. abt 1805; John Lindsey b.
abt. 1807; Thomas G. b. abt. 1818; James b. July 11, 1824; William Lewis Sr.
b. abt. 1824.
Does anyone have any information as to where this family fits in with the
other Gaddis families, and who Linden's parents might be?
Thanks, Joyce Gaddis Falls
