No death certificates are generally available in Georgia prior to 1919. The only cities I know of that maintained vital statistics registers prior to 1919 are Atlanta and Savannah. Others cities may have kept records. Decatur did not keep vital statistics registers.

You might want to check in the Atlanta Constitution and the DeKalb New Era newspapers for more information. I am not sure who has what issues, but the University of Georgia probably has every issue available microfilmed.
