Dr. James Humphreys served as a surgeon is the CSA, Co K 49th Georgia Volunteer Regiment when the regiment was sent to Virginia, atthe battle of Manassas, Battle of Fredicksbrug, Battle of Chancelorsville, Battle of Seven Pines and in PA at the Battle of Gettysburg.
