"Uncle Drew Roberts of C. Spgs. is now on the road soliciting aid for the barbecue of the "REUNION OF the CONFEDERATE VETERANS" 4th July at Blakely.

June 13, 1889
The Confederate Veterans Association have invited Jeff Davis to be with them at their 4th of July barbecue. IF he should accept the invitation he would find that no people loved him more than ours.
One article stated that 3000 people would show up for these activities in Blakely.
