My husband is the great-grandson of Jonathan Jackson (J. J.) Poill. That is
how his name ended up. He died at the alleged age of 102 in Eugene, Lane
County, Oregon.
He was born a Pyle but the name got corrupted over the years. Son of
Nicholas and Mary Westbrook Pyle. He had a brother named Everitt Pyle (as
far as we know). Everitt married Helen Monk and then he died in 1866 or
1867. Supposedly Nicholas and Marty Westbrook Pyle had at least 4 children
because J. J. claims he was the third of four children.
If you would like to see a lot more about the Pyles, go to my husband's web
site at http://www.thorntongale.org/Genealogy/genealogy.htm
Thank you for sending all of that information about the sons of Everitt.
How are you related to the Pyle/Monk line? And let's keep corresponding on
this.
Marty
