Subject: BERRONG/ARNDALE families??
Date: Tue, 8 Jun 1999 18:22:26 EDT

Hi ---does anyone on this list search for Berrongs or Arndales??

I've recently located my great grandmother on the 1900 GA census. While that
was a great step forward, I am now faced with a new mystery--

I see Rocia Berrong, age 22, married, living with the Arndale family as a
boarder. but her son is listed as being the grandson of the head of
household. I cannot figure out how her son could be the grandson of Mr.
Arndale. Her maiden name was Henson and her married name was Berrong--so
where does Arndale fit? I thought it might be that Mrs. Arndale was married
before to a Berrong, but she is too young to be Rocia's mother in law. Mr
Arndale is 72 ---old enough to be Rocia's husband's maternal grandfather. I
am wondering if census takers made any distinction between grandson and
great grandsons? Aslo wondering where her husband was?? I see that some
women have the listing WD in the married column, and I assume that is
widowed, but hers said M for married. Any clues or family connections????

All help appreciated!
Debbie
