I've wondered how your guy Crawford Barrentine is related to my ancestor Jesse Barrentine b. ca. 1784 Marlboro Co. SC who was one of the earliest settlers of Fayette Co. He is not a brother to Jesse (at least I don't think he is), but I think there has to be a connection because they all came out of SC to the same place in GA, and there just aren't that many Barrentines to start with. Have you looked for your guy in Marlboro Co. SC? I suspect he is a cousin to my guy Jesse Barrentine.
