Subject: [GAFORSYT-L] BOYD-1850 Forsyth Census
Date: Thu, 10 Jun 1999 22:59:36 -0500

There is listed in the 1850 Forsyth Co. Census, a household with a
Jesse FINCHER, m. 75 Farmer b. NC 1775
Jemimah CALLIHAN f. 50 b. NC 1800
Mary A. CALLIHAN, f, 20, b. GA 1830
Jesse BOYD, m. 10, b. ALA 1840
Angeline BOYD, f. 5, b.GA 1845
i am looking for my BOYD family in or near Forsyth Co. GA. Does anyone
know who these 2 Boyd children were who are living in the Jesse Fincher
household in 1850. My great grandparents, Moses Ervin Boyd and Milly
Jane Mitchell moved to Texas in the 1870's. In 1922 Milly was a widow
living in Amarillo, Texas. She applied for a Confederate Widow's
pension. A John W. Fincher was also living near her in Amarillo in 1922.
He also applied for a Confederate Pension. I obtained a copy and it
indicates he was born in Forsyth Co. GA. There are several Fincher
families in the 1850 and 1860 Forsyth census. I am trying to determine
if they both wound up in Amarillo, TX by sheer coincidence or if perhaps
they were related through either Milly's family or Moses Boyd's family.
Any tidbit of information will be appreciated. Thanks,

Sharon Boyd Jung
