MY Dear Brian,
Although I was NOT a Direct Descendant of ...ANY Captain SMITH.....(I Have
Cousins That ARE..(fact)..Years & Years ago.we had a Captain Edward Smith That
Married .(3 Women)... The 1st was a Wilborn or well Born and They Sired at
Least 3 Children.
This Confederate OFFIce4r then Married (2) Sisters after The FIRST one
died.Her Name was Arminda ,or Amanda..HERNDON.,The (3rd ) Wife was Her
sister...whoes Name escapes me at This writing.......
BUT Captain Edward Smith who married these Three women were my Relatives.
Edward is Buried in Michie ,Tn,in the CARTER Cemetary.,as is his (3rd)
wife,MY Great,Great Grandfathers Sister. as was his second wife.,
Edward was in the Same Regiments That surrendered at The Same time at
Appomattox when Genertal Lee Surrendered .
